Poets Laureate of Lawrence : A Workshop on Revision
Featuring Tracy Mishkin
Time & Location
Jul 22, 2025, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Arts for Lawrence's Theater at the Fort, 8920 Otis Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46216, USA
About the Event
Writing a poem is often a spontaneous experience, filled with the joy of getting one's feelings on paper. Revising sometimes feels like the opposite—a real grind—and can be hard to do. What if you could enjoy revising? I will share some techniques to get your revision process started and help you make your good poems great.
Tracy Mishkin published her first full-length book of poetry, The Way The Salt Falls, with Main Street Rag Publishing Company in 2024. She is a graduate of the MFA program in Creative Writing at Butler University. Tracy has also published three chapbooks, I Almost Didn't Make It to McDonald's, The Night I Quit Flossing, and This is Still Life. She lives in Indianapolis with her family and fewer than ten cats and dogs.
Directions: Take E. 56th Street to Post Road. Go North on Post and West on Otis. Poetry readings happen on the 2nd Floor of the Theater.…
