About the Event

Tuesday, January 23, 2024 7:00 - 7:45 p.m. Featured Guest: Lylanne Musselman

Lylanne Musselman is an award-winning poet, playwright, and visual artist. Her work has appeared in Poetry Breakfast, The Tipton Poetry Journal, Indianapolis Review, and The Ekphrastic Review, among others, and many anthologies. Musselman is the author of the poetry collection, It’s Not Love, Unfortunately (Chatter House Press, 2018). Her sixth chapbook, Staring Dementia in the Face (Finishing Line Press) became available in July 2023, and Marriage Maps and Driven Destinies, a poetry collection co-authored with Mary Sexson was published by Chatter House Press in September 2023. She is the Center Director for the Blackford County Arts Center in Hartford City. 

7:45-9 p.m. Open Mic reading  

Directions: Take E. 56th Street to Post Road. Go North on Post and West on Otis. Poetry readings happen on the 2nd Floor of the Theater. We are next door to The Sterret Center. Please enter at the back side entrance, closest to the musical swings. The doors generally open by 6:45 p.m. or soon thereafter. There is an elevator inside or feel free to take the stairs. The corner meeting room overlooks the musical swings. A parking lot is to the front of the Theater or at the back off of Post Road.  

Feel free to bring a capped drink and snacks.  Arts for Lawrence has a number of accessibility options for our patrons. Refund Policy

As a reminder, all class registrations and ticket sales are final. In the event of a cancellation, tickets may be exchanged for another performance date or event. If a class is canceled, refunds or exchanges will be made available to registered participants.

Parking / Finding Our Facilities

Parking for Arts for Lawrence is anywhere next to the blue stars on the map below. Amphitheater parking is also available EXCEPT during concerts and festivals. Parking is also available next to 56th Street after 6:30 PM. The parking lot next to our facility is NOT for Theater or FBCC parking.
