About the Event
Bashiri Asad Presents: The Brown Sugar Suite (formerly The Voodoo Suite)
In October 2025, the world lost a true musical icon—D'Angelo. The Brown Sugar Suite is Bashiri Asad’s soulful exploration of the music and artists that inspired D’Angelo’s sound and continue to influence generations.
Featuring live music with a full band, this concert blends selections inspired by D’Angelo and similar artists with Bashiri’s own rich vocals and signature flair. The result is an immersive evening of live soul—warm, expressive, and deeply rooted in musical influence.

As a reminder, all class registrations and ticket sales are final. In the event of a cancellation, tickets may be exchanged for another performance date or event. If a class is canceled, refunds or exchanges will be made available to registered participants.

Parking / Finding Our Facilities
Parking for Arts for Lawrence is anywhere next to the blue stars on the map below. Amphitheater parking is also available EXCEPT during concerts and festivals. Parking is also available next to 56th Street after 6:30 PM. The parking lot next to our facility is NOT for Theater or FBCC parking.
